Bill Orrison presented with William C. Orrison Scholarship

Spencer, IA – Northwest Bank honored Bill Orrison at his Retirement Open House with the Northwest Bank William C. Orrison Scholarship in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the finance industry and his local community. Bill Orrison recently retired after 26 years of service to the banking industry.
With a degree in accounting from the University of Iowa, Bill was employed as an Executive with Northwest Bank. Over his 26 year career, Bill worked in the operations, lending and the finance areas. At the time of his retirement, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Northwest Bank and responsible for all accounting and investment activities.
Greg Post, President and CEO of Northwest Bank, commented, “Bill has seen a lot of changes over the years and played a vital role as our organization grew from a small thrift to the brand we’ve become today; one of the largest banks in Iowa. Bill’s drive, commitment and passion for excellence are clearly evident in the success he has had over the years. He will continue to remain an integral part of Northwest Bank’s organization as a valuable resource on varying projects.”
Bill commented, “I am honored to be recognized for my dedication to Northwest Bank, by my co-workers and my community. Banking has and will continue to be my passion because it’s really all about helping people.”
This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually for five years, beginning March 2013, as part of the Spencer Community School Foundation Scholarship program. Spencer High School seniors who intend to major in finance, accounting, and/or business will receive first consideration. Recipients will be selected by the scholarship committee of the Foundation with input from Bill Orrison.
The Spencer Community School Foundation is a non-profit organization funded by donations, bequests, and annual giving programs. The goals of the Foundation are to enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students and teachers, partner with businesses to meet educational and vocational needs, and expand horizons that will impact the entire community. Annual contributions and partnerships from and between school employees, businesses, citizens, alumni, and friends impact the school and the community, and scholarships are a direct result of the heart-felt gifts presented to the Foundation.
