The Spirit Lake Kiwanis Foundation has been given $10,000 from Northwest Bank for the construction of a splash pad at Memorial Park. The local Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis club is raising funds to build a 3,000 square foot splash pad. Construction is planned to begin late summer 2012.
A splash pad is an area for water play that has no standing water therefore eliminating the need for a lifeguard. Ground nozzles spray water upwards over the splash pad’s rain deck. The nozzles are controlled by a hand activated-motion sensor; this ensures the water is running only when people are there to use it. The splash pad features a slip-resistant surface and above ground water features as well.
Jed Jensen, VP - Commercial Banker at Northwest Bank commented, “We appreciate the Kiwanis Foundation for leading this family-focused project. The Splash Pad is such a great addition to our community and will be enjoyed by many! Northwest Bank is committed to supporting the communities we serve.”
