Growth provides for opportunity at Northwest Bank, Des Moines, IA

Northwest Bank is expanding its leadership team in Des Moines. Joe Conover, President of Northwest Bank, explains, “we have experienced great success in Des Moines and have grown to the point where we need to add leadership capacity to our team.”

Don Nickerson, President, and Ed Arndorfer, EVP, Senior Lender, along with a great team of bankers and a supportive community have grown this location to over $450 million in assets. Conover continues, “as we implement our strategic plan, we recognize the size and scope of our banking activities require expanding our leadership team.”

Conover said, “I am proud to announce Don Nickerson has accepted the position as Des Moines Regional CEO and Ed Arndorfer has accepted the position as Regional Senior Lender.  These gentlemen represent the definition of first-class banking.  Their talent is second to none and have helped build a culture and brand at Northwest Bank that values employees and focuses on quality growth.”

Don was asked about his new position, Nickerson stated, “I am proud to work for an organization that focuses on community and looks for opportunities to provide value to our customers.  In addition, Northwest Bank works very hard to be the bank of choice and employer of choice.  I am honored to work with Ed and our talented team of bankers and looking forward to the next phase of our strategic plan.”   

Arndorfer commented, “being part of a company from the beginning of building a brand-new bank and helping businesses, families and the community grow is so rewarding.”

Nickerson announces, “Travis Simpson will be named as Regional President of Northwest Bank in Des Moines.  Travis has been with Northwest Bank for 14 years, and currently is Executive Vice President leading our Private Banking, Mortgage and Retail Banking divisions.  Travis’ responsibilities will include providing career development for our bankers, coordinating community involvement, and developing business. Travis is a trusted colleague and has the respect and support of his team. Travis has strong leadership skills and will continue to provide extraordinary customer service to our bank customers.”

Arndorfer announces, “We are expanding Jill Thielen’s role as Regional Business Banking Manager.  Jill has been with Northwest Bank for 17 years and has been an instrumental member of our Commercial Banking team.  Jill will manage all Commercial Bankers and Treasury Management Bankers in West Des Moines.  Jill’s experience has been extremely valuable to our company and her leadership improves the quality of our banking services. We are so pleased Jill has accepted this increased responsibility and we look forward to Jill’s continued leadership.”
