The USDA Rural Development recognized Northwest Bank as one of Iowa’s most active mortgage lenders in loan originating and loan writing in 2014! Northwest Bank was acknowledged with 78 loans totaling $7.5 million. With those 78 loans, Northwest Bank was also recognized for having the state’s fourth highest loan originating total.

“We are very pleased to have such a strong relationship with the USDA,” said Sara Frerichs, Senior Vice President of Retail/Mortgage Loans at Northwest Bank. “Partnerships are critical to our ability to help rural Iowans achieve their homeownership dreams.”

Lenders accessed more than $246 million in guaranteed loans to make homeownership dreams a reality for more than 2,400 households in rural Iowa. USDA Rural Development’s home loan programs offer competitive interest rates, fixed terms and require no down payment to help eligible families living in rural communities and areas purchase new or existing homes. Loans, and some grants, are also available to help families make needed repairs to their homes. Their mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents.
