WDM Community Shred Day

Northwest Bank in West Des Moines recently sponsored a community shred day on October 14, 2023. Travis Simpson, Regional President in West Des Moines, explains, “We enjoy providing an opportunity for community members to securely shred documents they no longer need. People can bring in old tax returns, bank statements, canceled checks and more to have them shredded on the spot. We’ve utilized this event as a fundraiser to benefit the local Lions Club and bring awareness to the many ways they give back to the local community. We are grateful for everyone who participated.”

This year, free-will donations in the amount of $1,605.00 were collected for the Lions Club over 3 tons of documents were shredded and 100 pairs of eyeglasses were donated to help combat vision impairment and blindness in the region.  Eyeglass recycling is one example of the many good works implemented by the Lions Club to benefit those in need.
